Photo series submitted by hydrologist Jon Burau of USGS team deploying acoustic telemetry hydrophones in March 2014. The hydrophones are helping the team track tagged salmon smolts released above an experimental behavioral barrier (orange buoys on the surface), which was installed at the junction of the Sacramento River and Georgiana Slough. The team hopes to shed light on the mechanics of entrainment and to evaluate the efficacy of a behavioral barrier.
